Fellow.ai is the only AI meeting assistant built from the ground up with [privacy and security](/content/features/privacy-controls/index.html) in mind. It supports the entire meeting workflow: from pre-meeting briefs, to note-taking and recording, to human-level recaps and summaries. By helping teams prepare better, capture every detail, and follow up effectively, Fellow enables organizations to have fewer, but more productive meetings and build lasting habits for an efficient meeting culture. Our story

### How Fellow evolved to transform meetings with AI

Fellow was founded in November 2017 by [Aydin Mirzaee (CEO)](https://www.linkedin.com/in/aydinmirzaee/), Amin Mirzaee (CPO), and Samuel Cormier-Iijima (CTO).

The three had previously founded Fluidware, which was acquired by SurveyMonkey. That acquisition brought a small team of under 100 into a company with more than 800 employees, and the meeting problem came into full focus.

As Fellow’s founders became managers, they saw the need for a tool that improved meeting productivity across the organization. They interviewed industry leaders and developed Fellow, designed to be a tool for managers in back to back meetings. After a testing period at Shopify, Fellow’s first customer, Fellow was released to the world.

In 2023, Fellow introduced AI meeting notetaking as a powerful new feature to solve the meeting productivity problem.

Now, Fellow has become the only [enterprise-ready](/content/enterprise/index.html) AI meeting assistant built from the ground up with privacy and security in mind.

Fellow takes your privacy and security seriously. Your meeting data is never shared with AI models and you control who can access your meeting records and notes. You also maintain full administrative control over who has access to recordings and which meetings Fellow Copilot attends.

Any data sent to an AI vendor is immediately deleted within the LLM. We have provisions in place with all AI vendors to ensure their models are not trained using Fellow customer data.
